"Campaign of Caring" Your tax-deductible donation makes you a partner in "Campaign of Caring". $25 - A round trip for 1 senior to dialysis or other medical treatments could be provided. This service, with some restrictions, is available to all residents of Nassau County. $50 - 2 seniors could have a week's worth of home-delivered meals, meeting 1/3 of their daily nutritional needs, plus the companionship of our dedicated volunteers who deliver the meals. $100 - 7 seniors could have a much needed hour of assistance with bathing, laundry or general housekeeping. $500 - 100 seniors in our meal site could receive a nutritional meal and increased programming, art and music supplies and field trips. $1,000 - 1 senior could be given a one month Adult Day Healthcare grant. This program offers an alternative for seniors, including those with Alzheimer's, to delay placement in a nursing home or assisted living facility. The Council on Aging is a 501 (c) (3) status non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductable and greatly appreciated.
